Steve Halgrimson - Wood Artist
Two and a half years ago I purchased my first lathe. Actually, my mother bought it for me as she took a gamble on a potential hidden talent of mine that only she knew of, moms are great at that! You see, I have worked in wood for over 30 years but never in this medium. Early in my career, I dabbled in most of the construction trades over some years looking for a niche, I finally settled in custom cabinetry as my profession. This decision led to me owning and operating my own cabinet and furniture company in Colorado for over 20 years. As I departed from cabinet making a while back, I never lost my love of working with wood. While I still do some work with custom cabinetry, my primary focus has shifted toward making wood turnings and custom furniture. I find that working with different types of unique wood, designing badass wood turnings and furniture is very satisfying. I continue to push my creative meanderings to their limits, bringing distinct artistic designs and unique pieces to my collection of art. I hope you enjoymy works as much as I do creating it.
