Pete Watters
I’m a retired newspaper editor and designer who started creating fused-glass pieces 10 years ago. I am intrigued by the potential for glass to reflect, transmit, and transform light and by its surprising durability, making it perfect for creating beautiful practical objects. I strive for precision in a chaotic medium (imagine melting ice cubes and refreezing them in an orderly fashion — that’s what fusing glass can feel like) and tend to work with abstract geometric patterns rather than traditional designs.
When I’m not working in my home studio, I enjoy traveling, baking, hiking, foraging for wild mushrooms, and relishing the unfettered usage of the Oxford comma.
