Mimi Chatlain
My artwork medium is Silversmithing. Exquisite rocks and gemstones are my inspiration, and I favor stones that are ethically sourced, rockhounded in the US, and/or cut by independent lapidary artists in the US. My silver is .925 Sterling that is guaranteed 80-90% recycled material. My work is inspired by feelings, nature, seasons, people, and movement; these themes are powerful vehicles of meditation and healing that encompass what I love about art. I am a mostly self-taught silversmith and I have been working with metal and stones since I moved to Colorado for college and became enamored with Geology. I graduated from Northern Arizona University with my B.A. and M.A. in English Literature. I am inspired by the written word and journaling. I work at FMC as a Nursing Assistant and take Pre-Med classes at NAU. I’m an avid dog-hiker, trail runner, yogi, book reader, financial analyst, and music-listener.
