Becky Maryn- Ceramic Artist

I love making things. I always have. I love animals, always have. I especially love making animals out of clay. I'm never quite sure if I can pull it off, but that's the pleasure, seeing if I can. Sometimes it's the dot of the eye that makes the difference.

Teatime at Grannie's was a thing, which is why I enjoy making teapots. Making miniature teapots is two fold, it transports me to a time past, childhood and time with my Grandmother.

Each piece is unique, thrown on a wheel, hand built, or a combination of the two. They are bisque fired to cone 04 (1945F). 3 to 6 applications of each glaze used is hand painted on. The number of glaze applications depends on the color saturation and/or viscosity of the glaze. They are then fired again to cone 05 (1888F).

I hope you enjoy what you see as much as I have in creating them. : )
